SHORT DARK HILARIOUS FLICKS

September 5th 2007 00:33
The Shining Jack Nicholson
I was sent an extreme animated short movie. I loved it so I searched online and discovered the original website featuring several more brilliant, blackly hilarious, short movies for “adults”. I’ve uploaded the four “horror” movies.

Sarge - Family Matters animated film
Two are pitch-black short episodes in an animated series called Sarge. The first directed by Noam Abta & Yonatan Bereskin, the second directed by Yuval Markovich & Noam Abta. The third is Urbunnies, every parents’ worst nightmare, directed by Noam Abta, Yonatan Bereskin, Neta Holzer and Yuval Markovich. The fourth, Smile, is an unusual, but highly effective combination of live action and animation directed by Yuval Markovich & Noam Abta.

Smile short animated film
These four short films were produced through the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design Jerusalem & The Sam Spiegel film and TV School and originated from Markovich and Abta’s own website LionInZion. They’re twisted and inventive filmmakers. My kind of guys.

Here’s Sarge – Happy Birthday Sarge:

Here is Sarge - Family Matters:

Here is Urbunnies:

Here is Smile:

And for a little lightly-hued relief, in case you found those movies a tad on the distasteful side, here is an ingenious spoof redux (re-editing) of Stanley Kubrick’s The Shining, transforming a ghost story about madness and murder into a trailer to an imaginary feel-good family flick about a lonely boy and his new foster father, altogether now, "Awwwwwww …”

Here’s Shining:

I love it when people rework trailers... it just goes to show you how formulaic trailers can be...

I'll check out those animated shorts when I get home... I love twisted shorts!

Cibby, yeah, you'll love those short movies, only one-and-a-half minutes each!

I want to see these shorts but my Internet just clocked over it limit and now I am stuck in the slow lane.

I'll have a look after a few days.

Good stuff.
