MACHINE GIRL!!!
February 11th 2008 06:42
My apologies for the short post, but I’m recovering from my bucks weekender.
So in keeping with my scrambled eggs mind I’m posting this trailer to a new Japanese piece of deep trash called Kataude Mashin Gâru (which translates literally as The One-Armed Machine Girl, but will be shortened to The Machine Girl for Western audiences). It is directed by Noboru Iguchi (Death Trance)
No release dates have been announced as the movie has only recently completed production. From the trailer the movie looks to be a cross between Shinya Tsukamato’s Tetsuo and Takashi Miike’s Ichi the Killer, with the absurdity of Evil Dead 2, but less of the high art of the first two movies and more of the deep trash of Raimi’s flick.
It stars Asami as Ami, a high school girl who has her arm cut off by Yakuza gangsters after they torture and kill her kid brother. So she seeks bloody vengeance with the aid of a machine-gun attached to the stump of her arm. She loses other body parts along the way and gains other weapons until she is, quite literally, a walking arsenal.
The movie will probably turn up on DVD here in Australasia later in the year. In the meantime check out the outrageously over-the-top trailer, definitely one for the actionfreak-gorehounds.
