DEMON WOMAN
October 10th 2011 02:12
Hey, Zombie Boy … meet Demon Woman.
She’s been dubbed “Vampire Woman” by the Mexican media, and she currently features in Bizarre fetish magazine, 35-year-old Maria Jose Cristerna from the Zapopan city has tattoos covering 98% of her body, scores of facial piercings, six teflon implants in her chest and arms, four horns on her head, four fangs, and – since she did the photo shoot for Bizarre – a forked tongue.
“I’m the first demon woman,” she proclaims, “I’m impersonating Lilith,” she adds.
Any serious horrorphile will be familiar with the Jewish mythology surrounding the figure of Lilith. She was Adam’s first wife, before Eve, and when Adam denied her rightful request for the cowgirl position during sex, she fled Eden, and spawned a race of demons with fallen angels.
Maria has identified with Lilith since surviving ten years of domestic abuse. She met her ex-husband at the age of seventeen, but he was a drug addict and damaged goods, and took his anger out on Maria. Eventually she left him, took the four kids, and within a year had started a tattoo business she calls Bodily Addiction.
She’s always loved inking the body, having got her first tattoo at fourteen – a skull with horns that she hid under her school uniform – but she didn’t transform into Lilith until after she got married. “It was particularly important to me when my face was tattooed, as it’s the most sacred part of the body, and the modifications to it make me feel so much stronger.”
Maria’s passions were always out there, including the loco Mexican horror movies where vampires battled with wrestlers such as El Santo. “I love the aesthetic in those films, she says, “and I loved the idea of being immortal.”
Apparently her kids (aged 8 - 11) are pretty cool with the way she looks. And she has a new boyfriend too.
Knock ‘em dead, Demon Woman!
